As Season 2011 draws to a close, it may be timely to look back at the progress made in season that is nearing its completion.
This year we have continued to improve in the designated areas within our 5 year plan of ground development and referees.
Although it is only our second year within this plan, we have certainly seen the benefits with the ground surfaces that have been improved using funds allocated by Football Wagga as well as the additional funds put in by the respective clubs. As we progress along the 5 year plan, we should see continued improvements and over time, I am sure we can then concentrate on ground facilities as a priority.
Additionally with the second year of our new referees, structures has seen continued improvements far in excess of our expectations. A much more harmonious working relationship between players, referees and officials has seen all parties develop respect for each other which has been missing sadly for a long period of time.
Thanks also to our referees subcommittee which has been working hard behind the scenes to provide the service from our referees we all take for granted.
It has been a successful year in so many ways and certainly credit must be given to lots of hard working people who have worked tirelessly to ensure our players have been able to enjoy our great game. All coaches, managers, officials and Club committee members should be proud of their achievements and on behalf of all the players, I would like to say thank you.
Finally I would like wish all the teams participating in this weekend’s Grand Finals, the best of luck.
